PETER ERICKSON DIES SUDDENLY (February 23, 1920)

Funeral to be held Friday afternoon Under Auspices of M.W.A.

Peter Erickson, for twenty-two years a citizen of this county, died at
Mound's Park Sanatorium at St. Paul, last Monday evening at 11 o'clock. Mr.
Erickson was taken with severe pains in his stomach and bowels last Thursday
night and a doctor was called who diagnoised the case, finding an
obstruction in the bowels and advised that he be taken to a hospital and
Friday he was taken to St. Paul. On account of the condition of his blood,
doctors could not operate, but had hopes that the obstruction might clear
away. Such was not the case and died after several days of suffering.

Deceased was born in Gestricland, Sweden, on August 5th, 1873, being 46
years, 6 months, 18 days of age at time of death. He came to United States
from Sweden in April 1893, making his home in Wabasha Co. at Weaver
Minnesota., with his Uncle Ole Chelgren, for 5 years. Being ambitious and
desiring to obtain a home of his own, he came to Kanabec county in 1898 and
purchesed land in Comfort Township, where he resided until his death. In
1901, at Minneapolis, he was married to Hannah F. Johnson of Denver, who has
ever since faithfully assisted him in putting the wild tract of land into
what is now a valuable farm.

To this union was born two children, namely, Mildred 17 years old, and
George, 12, who with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a faithful
hasband and kind father. He is also survived by a brother, Erick A Erickson
and family of Comfort, one brother and two sisters in Sweden; and un uncle,
Ole Chelgren of Weaver, Minnesota, also an Aunt, Mrs. Chell of that
villiage.

The remains will be buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Mora, Minnesota.

Jag ser att det bör stå "Gästrikland" isf "Utanför Norden". Kan Peter ändra på det?
