Swedish Roots

The three extra letters in the Swedish alphabet

You want to write them on your PC but don't know how? This is how:

Maybe the easiest way is to study your Windows manual, and find out how to change your keyboard into an International one. But if that feels difficult, there is another way.

Hold down the ALT-key and use the number keypad to type the following numbers:

å = ALT + 0229
ä = ALT + 0228
ö = ALT + 0246
Å = ALT + 0197
Ä = ALT + 0196
Ö = ALT + 0214

And two extra Scandinavian letters (used in Denmark and Norway):

æ = ALT + 0230, Æ = ALT + 0198
ø = ALT + 0248, Ø = ALT + 0216
